BARRE – The Parishes of St Joseph in Barre, and St. Thomas-a-Becket in (South) Barre, will sponsor “A Taste of Haiti,” on May 9 at 7 p.m. in St Joseph’s Parish Hall, 29 South St.; the focus of this program will be a snapshot of the diocesan Haitian Apostolate directed by Sr. Marie Judith Dupuy, SSA, showing the accomplishments of the prayers and support received by the apostolate from the people of the Diocese; the evening will include a sampling of traditional Haitian food and beverages; a video of some of the projects underway in Haiti producing positive results through the education and training of young people in life skills, a talk by Sister Judith explaining work being accomplished in the Diocese of Les Cayes and displays of some projects taken on by area groups and parishes for the benefit of our “brothers and sisters” in Haiti; admission is free but it is necessary to RSVP to Barbara Nordstrom at 978-355-4295, Barbara Potter at 978-355-4931 or by e-mail to Pat Kowal at to know how many will attend; a free will offering wil be accepted.
