Partners reaches 86 percent of goal

The  annual Partners in Charity Appeal  has reached 86 percent of its $5 million goal, with $4,314,660 in gifts and pledges received and $685,340 more needed.
The aim is to go over the top in July, according to Michael P. Gillespie, diocesan director of Stewardship and Development.
There have been 15,891 donors so far, of whom 946 new donors. The new donors have given a total of $119,735. So far, 135 priests have given a total of $195,575, an average of $1,448, Mr. Gillespie said.
The 103 members of the St. Paul Society, who pledge at least $5,000 have contributed a total of $766,900. There still are 11 members from last year who have not yet contributed this year, he said. There have been 377 on-line gifts totaling $155,055.
Twenty-eight of the 102 parishes in the diocese already have exceeded their goals, he said. Several others are nearing their goals.
The annual Partners in Charity Appeal  helps to support charitable, educational and ministerial organizations in the diocese. They include:
