Partners moves toward goal

Posted By June 19, 2014 | 1:35 pm | Local

The annual Partners in Charity Appeal has raised $4,540,779 in gifts and pledges, according to Michael P. Gillespie, diocesan director of Stewardship and Development.
That leaves $459,221 still needed to reach the $5 million goal. So far there have been 17,100 donors this year. That means there are about 3,500 people who gave to last year’s Appeal who have not yet made a gift or pledge this year. If this group made gifts equivalent to their gifts last year, it would bring in about $750,000 and put the drive over the top, Mr.Gillespie said.
There have been 981 new donors this year who have given a total of $123,114, he said. Gifts from 136 diocesan priests have totaled $198,575. The 109 members of the St. Paul Society, who pledge at least $5,000, have given a total of $787,473.
Thirty-nine of the 102 parishes in the diocese have reached or exceeded their goals, Mr. Gillespie said.
