Timothy Messenger, director of the Worcester diocese’s Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry, said this was the first time he has taken a group from here to a youth conference on the Ohio campus, where the university started the conferences decades ago.

Father Charles J. Dumphy, 95, of the Southgate Community in Shrewsbury, passed away Monday at the Christopher House.

Father Peter Howard White, 90, of Worcester, passed away peacefully with his family on July 15 in his home in Georgetown, IN. He was born in Worcester on May 19, 1934, the son of Arthur H. and Blanche R. (Michaud) White.

St. Ann Parish in the North Oxford section of Oxford grew out of St. Roch Parish in Oxford, and now is returning to its mother church with the Sept. 1 merger.

St. Ann Parish in the North Oxford section of Oxford will be merged into St. Roch Parish in Oxford Sept. 1. St. Roch’s campus will be used, and efforts will be made to sell St. Ann’s, according to a decree issued by Bishop McManus.

Anna Maria College announced the upcoming retirement of President Mary Lou Retelle in a press release on July 16. Her retirement will be effective at the close of the 2024-2025 academic year.
