Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

Workmen from F&D Truck Company of Worcester began removing the steeple of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Mulberry Street, Worcester, this Monday morning beginning with the cross on top. Last week workmen and trucks  prepared the building for demolition. Tuesday and Wednesday they emptied the church of debris and broken pews. They also dumped gravel in front of the church to protect a gas line during the demolition. Cranes were set up Friday outside the church. Workmen said removal of the steeple is to begin Monday morning.
