Numerous people from different parishes venerated a relic of St. Jude the Apostle and attended Mass in his honor Nov. 16 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Webster. Bringing the relic on this nine-month U.S. pilgrimage is Father Carlos Martins, of the Companions of the Cross. He preached about St. Jude’s time with his cousin Jesus, his ministry after Pentecost and the growth of devotion to him. Father Martins told listeners St. Jude will be their friend and be with them, and that God’s plan is “to turn you into a great saint. … The mark of a saint is saying ‘yes’ to Jesus.”
